1. Getting Started

What is Pawdara?+

Pawdara is a digital pet health platform that creates a shared timeline between pet owners and veterinary clinics. It helps you keep all your pet's health records, vaccinations, documents, and photos organized in one place.

Is Pawdara free?+

Yes! Pet owners can use Pawdara for free with one pet and 200 MB of storage. Our Premium plan ($7.99/month) unlocks unlimited pets, photos, documents, and priority support.

How do I create an account?+

Download the Pawdara app from the App Store or Google Play, then sign up with your email, Apple ID, or Google account. Clinic staff can register at pawdara.com/signup.

2. Pet Owner Features

How do I add a pet?+

After signing in, tap the "+" button on the pet list screen. Enter your pet's name, species, breed, and date of birth. You can also add a photo, microchip number, allergies, and current medications.

How does the pet timeline work?+

The timeline is a chronological record of your pet's health events — vet visits, vaccinations, surgeries, lab results, and more. Both you and your vet clinic can add entries. Timeline entries are immutable, meaning they cannot be edited or deleted once created, ensuring a reliable medical history.

Can I share my pet's records with my vet?+

Yes! Generate a link code from your pet's profile and share it with your vet clinic. Once they enter the code, your pet appears in their system and they can add medical entries directly to the timeline.

What is Family Sharing?+

Family Sharing lets you invite other Pawdara users (e.g., a spouse or family member) to co-manage your pet. Co-owners can view the timeline, upload documents, and receive reminders.

Can I export my pet's records?+

Yes. Pawdara offers three PDF exports: a Vaccination Record, a Health Certificate, and an Emergency Contact. These can be shared or printed directly from the app.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

What does the Premium plan include?+

Premium ($7.99/month) gives you unlimited pets, unlimited document and photo uploads, PDF exports, and priority support. Free users are limited to 1 pet and 200 MB of storage.

How do I upgrade to Premium?+

Go to your Profile tab in the app, then tap "Upgrade to Premium." Payment is processed securely through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

Can I cancel my subscription?+

Yes. You can cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play). You'll retain Premium access until the end of the current billing cycle.

4. Privacy & Security

Is my data secure?+

Absolutely. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Data is isolated per account — only you and your authorized clinics can see your records. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Who can see my pet's health records?+

Only you, your co-owners (Family Sharing), and the vet clinics you've linked your pet to can see the records. Clinic internal notes are only visible to clinic staff.

Can I delete my account?+

You can delete your account directly in the Pawdara app. Go to Profile → Delete Account. Your account and all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days of your request.

5. Clinic Portal — Getting Started

How do I register my clinic?+

Visit pawdara.com/signup and fill out the clinic registration form. Our team will review your application and send you login credentials within 24 hours.

What are the clinic pricing tiers?+

We offer three plans: Starter ($49/month or $490/year), Growth ($99/month or $990/year), and Hospital ($199/month or $1,990/year). Annual billing saves you 2 months. Each tier includes different limits on team members and storage.

How do I add team members?+

Go to the Team page in the clinic portal. Enter your staff member's email address and select their role (admin or veterinarian). They'll receive an email invitation to join.

6. Clinic Portal — Managing Patients

How do I link a pet owner's pet?+

Ask the pet owner to generate a link code in their app, then enter it on the Patients page using the "Link Pet" button. The pet will appear in your patient list.

Can I add entries to a patient's timeline?+

Yes. Navigate to the patient's profile and click "Add Entry." You can record visits, vaccinations, surgeries, lab results, prescriptions, and weight measurements.

What are internal notes?+

Internal notes are entries visible only to clinic staff. They are hidden from pet owners and can be used for clinical observations, billing notes, or follow-up reminders.

Can I bulk-import patient records?+

Yes. The clinic portal supports CSV bulk import for patient records. Go to Patients → Import to upload your file. A template is provided.

7. Clinic Portal — Reminders & Communication

How do reminders work?+

You can create reminders for upcoming vaccinations, check-ups, or follow-up visits. Pet owners will receive push notifications in the app when a reminder is due.

Can I send messages to pet owners?+

Currently, communication happens through reminders and timeline entries. Direct messaging is on our roadmap for a future release.
